At 17:02 GMT on 28 February, a tugboat issued a distress signal and requested immediate assistance. The vessel subsequently sank.

2月28日17时02分(格林尼治标准时间),一艘拖船发出遇险信号,报告"发生不受控制的海水入侵",请求紧急援助。随后沉没。

 

There were 18 people on board. As of 1 March, public information confirmed 12 survivors, one person presumed deceased, and five still missing. Search and rescue operations continue in severe weather conditions.

Simultaneously, a series of merchant vessel attacks occurred in the Gulf of Oman and adjacent waters:

A Greek-owned, Liberian-flagged tanker was struck by a drone or missile. No casualties or significant damage are reported, and the vessel continued to its destination port;

A cargo vessel was attacked in waters off Oman, resulting in the death of an engine room crew member;

A Spanish-flagged vessel was attacked approximately 20 nautical miles off the UAE coast;

A Palau-flagged vessel was struck 5 nautical miles off the Omani coast. Crew members abandoned ship, and 4 people sustained injuries;

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported multiple incidents of abnormal explosions or attacks in the region.

This afternoon, at least three ships were attacked near the Strait of Hormuz. UKMTO reported that two vessels had been struck, and an "unknown projectile" was reported to have "exploded in very close proximity" to a third.

According to CIRIUM database statistics, Chinese Mainland previously maintained 54 routes to the Middle East, with approximately 230 weekly flights. Guangzhou and Beijing both provided connectivity to 8 Middle Eastern cities. Current operational status has changed significantly.
